Alicia was born and raised in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Nazareth High School and went on to Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pennsylvania. Not long after her graduation in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, Alicia sought warmer temperatures and in 1999 moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. She discovered and took a position as a legal assistant with Orsbon & Fenninger, LLP and her interest in the estate planning and administration field was sparked. She obtained her Paralegal Certificate from Central Piedmont Community College and is currently a North Carolina Certified Paralegal. She has been with the firm since its inception in 2001. Alicia and her husband, Jeff, and have two children, Nicholas and Jillian. In her “free” time, she enjoys being a soccer and dance mom and loves gardening, cooking, music, and relaxing at the beach.
LaWanda C. Bell is a native of Clinton, North Carolina. She is married to husband, Curtis, and together they have three children, Zavian, Zaria, and Zaire. LaWanda received her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville, NC. Shortly after graduation, she and her new husband moved to New Jersey. At the onset of her career, she worked several years as a paralegal for two firms. Her longest tenure was with Daniel B. Zonies, Esq. in Cherry Hill, New Jersey where she handled Personal Injury, Municipal, and Worker’s Compensation cases. LaWanda later became employed with the State of New Jersey Judiciary where she worked for over 12 years. Positions held in New Jersey included Administrative Supervisor II of the Superior Court Clerk’s office, Trenton, NJ, where she oversaw Foreclosure and Judgment cases; she was eventually promoted to Assistant Civil Division Manager, Middlesex County Superior Court where she oversaw Civil Law cases. After a total of 21 years in New Jersey, and after all three of her children decided to attend colleges in the south, LaWanda and her husband Curtis returned to North Carolina.
A door immediately opened for LaWanda, and she was offered a position with the Mecklenburg County Clerk’s Office as an Estate Auditor in January of 2019. After more than two years working as an auditor, LaWanda accepted a paralegal position with Orsbon & Fenninger. She is overjoyed to be in this new role as it will allow her the opportunity to serve, connect and help others on a larger, and more personable scale. During her down time, LaWanda loves shopping, listening to music, and spending time with family.
Valencia J. Ogletree is a native of Birmingham, Alabama and joined the firm in October of 2018. She has been married to her husband, Herman, for 31 years and has one son, Herman, III. She graduated from the Birmingham College of Allied Health, and months later, started a new career within the banking industry where she remained for over 35 years. During this period, she received numerous awards, certificates, and recognition for her customer service and customer relation skills. When not working, Valencia likes to spend her leisure time listening to music, traveling, and watching television.
Jim is a North Carolina native and the father of partner, Cyndy Fenninger. Jim graduated from the United States Air Force Academy and flew B-52s for Strategic Air Command, then enjoyed a long career as custom home builder in Charlotte. Jim is married to wife, Carolyn, has four daughters, Ruth, Diane, Michelle and Cyndy, and a multitude of grandchildren. Having retired from his former position as a pilot for Charter Flight, Jim now volunteers his time for the firm doing a wide variety of tasks, the most important of which is welcoming clients upon their arrival. Jim is an avid walker and reader and an active member of Sardis Presbyterian Church.
